Comments:I was with the 25th Inf Co C 4th Bn 23rd Inf div during 1969. Our base camp was near Tay Ninh. I was air lifted to your hospital June 27 1969 after being hit. Black Virgin Mountain!! Something has been on my mind all these years and need to ask someone that possibly was stationed at your hospital during June of 1969. It pertains to procedures. Thank you for this wonderful site and a special thanks to all the medical staff.

Comments:I stumbled across your website while trying to show my children that information about their grandfather/ my father was to old to be found on the Internet. I was wrong. My dad was Lt Col Thomas Nelson, who worked on the MUST design and went to the 45th after Major Wratten was killed. We have an old notebook filled with photographs of the early set-up, some medical statistics, and a report by my father on some of the early medical activities. Please e-mail me if any of this might be of help to any members of the 45th. Daddy always spoke highly of the unit.

Comments:I arrived in VN Feb.68 & was immediately transfered to the 45th Surg Hospt as surgical scrub tech. (MOS 91D20). I got there one week after the Tet offensive and came home Apr. 28, 1969. A day has not passed without my thinking about what I saw and what I did while there. One of the things that has kept me sane is the knowledge that because of my resourcefulness there are people walking around alive today that would other wise be dead! Doug Warner

Comments:I guess this was the spot. I came from the 82nd ABN. Div. to the 45th. As a lot of us, most of Vietnam is a blur when trying to remember names. Jim Johnson comes to mind, Kenneth Kenard, Maj. Peacock, thats about all I can remember. Oh yea, Spec. Wands. I do remember watching the movies on the side wall of the mess hall,as we were being hit with incoming and the CO would make us go to the Bunkers. But most of all, having to stay drunk to stay sane. All the mass casualties from the Black Virgin, and every where else. It was not a fun place to be, but there were some great memories I brought back. If anyone remembers me, please let me know.

Comments:I am visiting this site again. I am retired military now for 15 years. I have been trying to remember names. I was a 91D and after we closed the 45th went south to the 3rd Surg. We were all in the same boat at that time. How we are dealing with it now is important. Take care to all that came home and remember those who did not. I would like to know if anyone knows Larry Swartz from Iowa is? Let me know.

I then went to the 3rd Surg at Binh Tuay in the Delta. The only name I remember from the 45th was Johnny Blue. I do remember getting hit every night and the sapers. I also remember a surgeon named Dr. Pepper. My time there is kind of a blur.

Actually, the hospital was on another boat and most of the hosp. was dumped in Subic Bay in the Phillipines. Anyway, we lived and died with it for the first year. It would be real nice to hear from some of the original personal. I am like everyone else this is a great page. Also I would add I have been searching for this for about 2 years and I must admit I have quite a knot in my stomach.

Comments:Love your site. I was not with the 45th but i was at Tay Ninh in 1966-1967 with the 595th Sig Co. We installed the communications and ran all the wire and setup the telephone network prior to all the Inf. units getting there. We had commo vans lined up along side the airstrip and the got hit on several occasions during the 6 p.m. mortar atacks. My platoon leader and Plt Sgt both got severly wounded there and both was evacuated back to the Phillipines, i think. Great site and keep up the great work. Love the pictures and they bring back a lot of memories.
